A group of Scottish and English companies
Archibald Marckay Group is a privately owned UK group of Scottish and English companies operating across business, property and hospitality. It is directed from Edinburgh, and its companies are connected by shared ownership, property expertise and common operating standards.
Who we are
An owner-operated group
The group holds residential and commercial property interests across the UK. Over time that has included buy-to-let, HMOs, student accommodation, social housing and hospitality conversions.
Alongside those property interests, the group operates guest accommodation under the Archibald Hotel Collection, provides business and property consultancy through Archibald Advisory, and delivers fire safety services through Fire Check Scotland.
Buildings are bought, refurbished and run by the same organisation, and compliance, maintenance, supplier relationships and systems are handled across the group rather than reinvented for each business.

Archibald Advisory provides AI consultancy, process streamlining, automation and cost reduction for established owners and investors, while Fire Check Scotland brings fire safety and compliance expertise to the group's own buildings and external clients.

Hospitality
The Archibald Hotel Collection operates owner-run hotels and townhouse accommodation in Edinburgh and Southport, to standards set by the owners rather than a management contract.

How the businesses fit together
Each business stands on its own commercially, while drawing on the same ownership, property knowledge and operating disciplines. Work carried out for the group’s own buildings informs the service offered to clients, and vice versa.

The group's hospitality operation, running townhouse accommodation in Edinburgh and Southport to standards set by the owners rather than a management contract.

Advice and support for owners and investors: AI consultancy and automation, business process improvement, and property and investment advisory.

The group’s property work has been carried out in Edinburgh and Central Scotland, and in Birmingham, Liverpool and Southport. These are locations where the group has built its experience; they are not a statement of what is currently held.
Present hospitality operations are in Edinburgh and Southport, and the group is operationally based in Edinburgh.
Leadership
Stewardship and delivery
The group is led by its directors, Caroline and Nick Claydon. They set its strategic direction, oversee the operating businesses and hold responsibility for governance, standards and commercial performance.
Their experience spans business ownership, property investment, acquisition, development and hospitality operations, including residential investment, HMOs, student accommodation, social housing and the conversion of buildings into guest accommodation. That experience informs how the group is governed and how projects are delivered.
Day-to-day delivery sits with the teams and systems in each business, supported by shared compliance, maintenance and reporting across the group.
